The Docked Leaf – Before I Go (End of Life Planning)

Today, I wanted to draw your attention to this book. It’s “Before I Go; the Essential Guide to creating a good End of Life Plan.” It’s by a lady called Jane Duncan Rodgers. And she is the person that I trained with to become an End of Life Planning Coach.

I think before I’d even enrolled on the course, I’d already got my copy and read it cover to cover.

The Two Things You Need To Know

There are a couple of things I would really like you to know about this book. The first is – it’s very gentle. It takes you chapter by chapter through the things that you need to know about making your End of Life Plan, but it does so in a really comfortable and gentle way. It’s not scary; it’s not ‘pointy’ in any way, if that makes sense?

So if this is a subject that you’ve been thinking of doing something about and you don’t know where to begin – you’re not quite ready to put pen to paper but you would like to do a little bit more research before going any further – then this is the book for you.

The second thing that makes it a really easy read is that there are a lot of quotes from people who have done this work and also case studies. So it’s not just the theory of doing something, but also real-life stories from people who either have (or haven’t) done End of Life Planning, and the consequences and repercussions doing so. It puts things in context and makes them more real and more relatable.

The Logistics

I can’t recommend this book highly enough. You can easily get it from Amazon as well as some other places – you can find the various places you can purchase it here.

It’s worth noting that this is a text-based book at almost 200 pages in length. So it’s worth remembering – as with all things in End of Life Planning – take your time.

You don’t need to be like me and read this in one go if that’s not for you. You just pick the sections that are relevant to you and take it at your own pace.

I think you’ll find this an invaluable resource. As I say, I can’t recommend it highly enough. It’s how to make your End of Life Plan in a comfortable, easy, relatable and step-by-step way.

You should definitely get a copy and check it out. It’s where I started my journey; I found it helpful then and it’s helpful to me now. And I hope it’s helpful to you too.

Until next time, take care…
